Epsilon Systems Wins Contract for Final Phase of Norfolk Naval Station Port Security Barrier System
San Diego California (April 21, 2008) – Epsilon Systems has been awarded a contract for the installation of a waterfront barrier system to protect US Navy ships, boats, craft and other assets that berth along the waterfront at Naval Station Norfolk. The installation of the port security barrier (PSB) system has occurred in several phases and this phase (Phase IV) will complete the remainder of the barrier installations for the entire waterfront. The contract is valued at $4,666,077. This phase is part of a larger indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract won by Epsilon Systems from the Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center for project management, design, fabrication, shipping, installation, engineering design documentation and systems maintenance.
Epsilon Systems has performed similar PSB work for the US Navy at both United States and overseas locations. In addition to mooring and port security barriers, Epsilon Systems continues to provide a wide variety of integrated security technology solutions to meet specific needs for the protection of high value assets such as transportation infrastructure and facilities (rail, port, bus), public safety personnel (law enforcement, fire/EMS 1 st Responders) and petrochemical facilities in support of the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and related commercial industries.
“We feel privileged that Epsilon Systems’ professionals will once again bring our technology to Norfolk Naval Station to provide protection to US Navy personnel, ships and other high value assets of the American taxpayer,” said Bryan Min, President & CEO of Epsilon Systems. “Norfolk Naval Station is the largest naval installation in the world. Performing this work is a great way to serve our Sailors, our great nation and our Navy.”
